Sydney Helms

"I am a senior Real Estate major and Business minor. This past summer I was an intern for Colliers International in Washington, DC, where I worked in brokerage and investment sales. I helped with OM's, shadowed the brokers, and assisted with a major research project focusing on the company's largest transactions on a global scale. I was able to travel to New York City with Colliers during my internship as well. I currently serve as an ambassador for the Program in Real Estate and a Teaching Assistant for Financing Real Estate Projects. In addition to this, I am an intern in the Real Estate/General Counsel department of the Virginia Tech Foundation for the 2018-2019 academic year. I love working at the VT Foundation because it allows me to learn more about real estate and how I can help the university achieve its goals and better serve the needs of the students. The Program in Real Estate has provided me with so many opportunities, and has exposed me to all facets of real estate. The faculty and staff are truly invested in our education and are always willing to help students connect with industry professionals."
