I chose Real Estate because I’ve always had a passion for homes. I love the idea of being on the go and not being cooped up in an office, all while helping a family find their dream home. I’m definitely glad I chose the Program in Real Estate at Virginia Tech. I love that because it is such a small program, you really get to know the professors and other students. Everyone is so willing to go above and beyond to help you find internships too. I’ve had 2 internships through connections I have made through real estate. One of them was the summer following freshman year, I was working with the Neighborhoods of EYA as a New Home Sales Assistant. The following year I interned with Vornado/Charles E. Smith, now known as JBG Smith, as a leasing intern. The networking events and trips have been a crucial part in me making the connections that I have.
After graduating, I plan on moving back to the Northern Virginia area and being a residential realtor. Eventually, I want to relocate to Charlotte, North Carolina and make a name for myself there. The Real Estate Program has brought me so many opportunities and it’s a little bittersweet knowing this will be my last year!
