The Virginia Tech Program in Real Estate has been named the 5th most popular real estate school nationwide, according to College Factual.

A total of 48 universities offering real estate programs were ranked in the “popular” category, which College Factual says is “based purely on number of students graduated.” Virginia Tech awarded bachelor’s degrees in real estate to 43 students in the 2016 - 2017 academic year.

Other categories included “best value” and “highest paid graduates.”

Within the popular category, Virginia Tech was among a group of schools that received “highest” rankings for overall quality.  . The 48 schools  were ranked based on graduation rates, resources, and more. In Virginia, only one other school was ranked: Virginia Commonwealth University, coming in at number 31.

Virginia Tech’s Program in Real Estate attracts students who are interested in a comprehensive, interdisciplinary degree. Courses within the real estate major integrate strengths from five colleges at Virginia Tech, and students take courses such as finance, law, property management, and more.

There are currently 261 students enrolled as real estate majors. The program was started in 2013 and is now housed in the Pamplin College of Business. Real estate majors are encouraged to either double major or minor, to expand their knowledge of real estate and beyond.
