Student Engagement Opportunities

The Real Estate Club provides opportunities for students majoring and minoring in real estate to enhance their knowledge of the field and build strong connections with their peers, professors and industry professionals. The club meets twice a month and often hosts guest speakers.

The Real Estate Peer Mentor Program offers a unique opportunity for incoming first year and transfer students to receive mentorship from a current Real Estate student. Peer Mentors will share resources and provide support in terms of adjusting to college and campus life, succeeding in classes, learning more about the real estate industry and sharing insight from their own internship experiences. In order to participate mentees and mentors must commit to meeting at least five times during the semester. Peer Mentors must be at least sophomores with one year of experience in the program. If you have any questions about the Peer Mentor Program, feel free to email our REAL Advisors at

Real Estate Student Ambassadors represent the Blackwood Department of Real Estate at recruiting events (i.e., major fairs, career fairs, etc.) by answering questions, distributing swag, and enthusiastically describing their personal experiences within the program. Student Ambassadors may also be called upon to attend Real Estate events and meet with prospective students and their families as needed. Reach out to your REAL advisor for more information at

Real Estate Teaching Assistants develop strong connections with the Program's professors. They help to grade papers, update the Canvas site and hold office hours to help students. Teaching Assistants often strengthen their knowledge of real estate by teaching others. Research Assistants are similar to teaching assistants, but instead, aid professors with their research in the real estate field. Research Assistants can look forward to strengthening their knowledge through hands-on analytic experience. Reach out to your REAL advisor for more information at
