The Real Estate Club

The Real Estate Club at Virginia Tech is a club for students majoring and minoring in real estate, as well as those who are interested in the Real Estate Industry. The club often hosts guest speakers and tours various sites, and meets twice a month. 

Co-President: Amelia O'Kieffe

Hello! My name is Amelia O'Kieffe, and I am a senior majoring in Commercial Real Estate with a minor in Finance. Having served on the exec board since my freshman year, I am excited to find new ways to help the club and program excel this year. Last summer, I interned with Bell Partners, a multifamily asset management firm. This past summer, I interned with Pizzano Contractors and JLL, specializing in pre-construction and tenant advisory. In addition to being involved in the Real Estate Club, I am a TA for Financing Real Estate Projects and Professional Development, a member of the Real Estate Student Advisory Board, and Kappa Delta. We have some fantastic events planned this year, and I look forward to meeting new and old students who want to get involved!

Co-President: Allie Richards

Hi! I’m Allie Richards, a senior double majoring in Commercial Real Estate Development & Investment and Property Management at Virginia Tech. I serve as Co-President of the VT Real Estate Club, where I help lead our board and connect with industry professionals. I’ve interned with multiple construction companies, gaining experience in estimating, development, and infrastructure. I’ve also competed in the Mulroy Real Estate Challenge and studied abroad in Slovenia and Croatia. Beyond the club, I am a peer mentor in the real estate department, a Real Estate Student Advisory Board Member, and have gotten to experience so many amzing things within the Blackwood Department of Real Estate. I’m passionate about helping students explore real estate and excited for a year of growth and connection with my fellow club members! 

Marketing Chair: Avery Marable

Hi! My name is Avery Marable, and I’m a junior at Virginia Tech majoring in Commercial Real Estate with minors in Finance and Property Management. I currently serve as the Marketing Chair for The Real Estate Club and sit on the executive boards of both the Association of Property Management and The Dance Company. For the past two years, I’ve worked as a Business Development Intern at Atlantic Mortgage Group, and this upcoming summer I’ll be joining The Runnymede Corporation as an Asset Management Intern. Additionally, I serve as a peer mentor for incoming first-year students pursuing real estate.

Operations Chair: Owen Dunn

Hi! My name is Owen Dunn, and I am a junior double-majoring in Residential Real Estate and Property Management. I am serving as the Operations Chair for my first year on the Exec Board of the Real Estate Club. I look forward to ensuring our meetings run smoothly and that all members gain valuable information from them. Through real estate, I have attended the Urban Land Institute Fall Meeting in Las Vegas, interned with Northwood Ravin in Charlotte, and made valuable connections that will help me excel in my professional journey. I am excited to meet all of our members and have a great year!

Sophomore Chair: Samara Ruano

Hi everyone! My name is Samara Ruano, and I’m a double major in Corporate Finance and Commercial Real Estate. This year, I’m serving as Sophomore Chair, and I’m so excited for all the upcoming events! Outside of the Real Estate Club, I’m a member of the Real Estate Student Advisory Board and serve as a Peer Ambassador and Peer Mentor. This past summer, I had the opportunity to study abroad for Real Estate, where I met many incredible individuals in the program. I’m excited to bring the skills and experiences I gained into the club and connect with everyone at our events!
