Students and faculty gathered into a packed house Tuesday night to hear Todd Crouse present on “Recognizing and Surviving Real Estate Cycles” in the Fralin Auditorium.

Todd Crouse is a real estate broker and former commercial mortgage broker who transacted over $1.5 billion in commercial loans, equity placements, and property sales over a 20 year career. He served as Senior Vice President and Managing Director of the Raleigh, NC office of Northmarq Capital, and he was then selected to Northmarq’s “President’s Council,” exclusively for the top 10% producers for the company. After his time with Northmarq he he spent 8 years as a CPA of KPMG.

Crouse spoke to the students about Real Estate cycles and the indicators of when a cycle is reaching its peak. Students learned terminology and more about the Real Estate crash in 2007 and the recession that followed. At the end of the presentation, students were able to ask Crouse questions.

In addition to the presentation, students were invited to dinner with Crouse afterwards provided by the Program in Real Estate.

Crouse received a B.S. degree in Accounting from Virginia Tech.
