Catherine Potter has more than 25 years of experience as a corporate and real estate attorney. She joins the Blackwood Department of Real Estate from the Virginia Tech Foundation, where she served as General Counsel and Associate Vice President. Prior to joining the Foundation, Catherine worked for Capital Automotive Real Estate Services, Inc., a real estate investment firm, as its General Counsel, Corporate Secretary, and Senior Vice President. Previous work experience included her time at ORBCOMM Global, a satellite communications firm, where she worked as Corporate Secretary and Assistant General Counsel, as well as her time as an associate at the law firms of Sheppard Mullin in San Diego and Fennemore Craig in Phoenix, Arizona. Locally, she has served as a Commissioner for the New River Valley Regional Commission, as well as a Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce Board Member.  Ms. Potter also was an Adjunct Professor at the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University, teaching business law for the MBA program from 2013 - 2017.
